Meest Introduces Fuel Surcharge for International Shipments

Meest Introduces Fuel Surcharge for International Shipments

Due to ongoing global changes that have resulted in a sustained increase in fuel prices, Meest is implementing a fuel surcharge for international shipments.

Effective April 15, 2026, the following fuel surcharge will apply:

  • $0.22 per lb for air shipments
  • $0.15 per lb for sea shipments

Over the past months, fuel costs have increased significantly, impacting logistics operations worldwide. This adjustment is necessary to help offset rising transportation costs across all stages of the delivery process, including first-mile pickup, air and ocean freight, and last-mile delivery.

This fuel surcharge is variable and may be adjusted on a monthly basis in response to ongoing fluctuations in fuel prices. We will continue to monitor market conditions closely and apply changes as needed to reflect actual cost impacts.

Major international carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express already apply fuel surcharges, which reach 30% and more of the shipping cost, depending on market conditions:

  • UPS: weekly fuel surcharge adjustment
  • FedEx: weekly fuel surcharge adjustment
  • DHL: weekly fuel surcharge adjustment
  • USPS: launching April 26, 2026, fuel surcharge adjustment

This surcharge will not affect domestic shipments and expedited service shipments, as our partners, mentioned above, have already included these fuel costs into the final price.

Meest remains committed to providing reliable and affordable international shipping. To maintain a stable high level of service our customers expect, we are implementing this fuel surcharge in response to the continued rise in fuel and transportation costs. This step is required to maintain service quality and operational efficiency without compromising the customer experience.

We will continue to closely monitor market conditions and adjust the surcharge as needed to accurately reflect actual cost changes.

The fuel surcharge will be calculated separately at checkout and displayed as a separate line in the total summary of the invoice.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperating with Meest.
